Solitude: Relaxation, Reflection, and even Luxury
Morgan Murrah
I feel rested
I think I knew something was up when I started going to sleep at 7-8pm and would wake up at 7:30am. My body had not been getting enough sleep. I was wearing myself out.
Getting better was going to take a multi-pronged approach to life:
- Sleep
- Food
- Exercise
- Treatments
- Good social time
Finding nutritious hobbies and activities took a lot of work. But it was worth it.
I am a better music producer hobbyist now than I was before taking some time to recharge. I am a better game dev, working on the PlayDate console as a hobbyist, working up my Pulp editor development skills. Ive been going for good walks.
I have faciliated volunteer meetings for local causes, and attended and participated at city club meetings. I am part of my community.
Most of all, I switched off some. I cultivated hobbies and put some distance between me and the internet.
This final stretch of time before returning to a normal work schedule, I want to really relax as much as possible and achieve good levels of solitude. I took the event of my phone battery inflating and getting a new phone 2 weeks later as a much deserved joyful experience, if stressful at times, it was about growth in how I spend my time.
